Integration & Automation Engineer (Burnaby)

As an Integration & Automation Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

Responsibilities

• Maintain advanced technical knowledge and skills to contribute to the development and enhancement of integration and automation features in SEL products.
• Define, develop and analyze product specifications, functional tests, and system validation processes.
• Diagnose customer-reported problems with integration and communication features and document issues for developers.
• Provide technical and market analysis to evaluate proposed products or enhancements.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience with multiple communication protocols and their application in an electrical power system workplace.
• Experience with Ethernet and pseudo‑wire emulation services (asset).
• At least 2+ years of experience in setup and configuration of a broad range of network devices and interfaces with Python and REST API.
• At least 2+ years of experience in a verification or compliance role within a new product introduction team.
• Previous collaboration with R&D engineers.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2+ years of experience in electric power SCADA or EMS practices.
• Experience contributing to product development teams.
• Working knowledge of SEL products and protocols.
• Knowledge of electric utility telecommunications.

Compensation

Pay Range: $85,000 – $112,000 CAD per year. The range may vary based on experience and level.
