Department Manager Pharmacy

The Pharmacy Manager will assume full control and accountability for the operation of the pharmacy department and the success of the pharmacy business. Responsibilities include meeting financial benchmarks and operating efficiencies, maintaining high standards of pharmacy practice, excellent customer/patient relations, and providing strong, professional and strategic leadership to the pharmacy team. The Manager will also assume responsibility for all employee relations, retail operations, maintenance of the physical plant, meeting financial benchmarks and maintaining merchandising standards within the store.

Pharmacy technicians and state‑of‑the‑art technology are used to relieve pharmacists from routine tasks and allow them to concentrate on practicing pharmacy. Patient care is paramount. All pharmacists are committed to maintaining innovative patient‑care services.

Desired candidates are enthusiastic about patient counseling, monitoring patient profiles and performing drug usage reviews. They are interested in disease management and compliance programs and willing to be involved with community seminars and workshops. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, commitment to excellence, and drive.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with 1‑2 years of community pharmacy experience.
• Valid Registered Pharmacist license in good standing with the provincial College.
• Strong working knowledge of all aspects of the pharmacy business.
• Willingness to participate in continued education to upgrade knowledge.
• Good communication skills and excellent customer and staff relations.
• Ability to lead a team and use a coaching management style.
• Ability to work quickly, multi‑task and work well under pressure.
• High level of professionalism, energy and enthusiasm.
• Strong computer skills.

Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum one year of management experience; however, applicants without management experience may also be considered.
