Senior Business Analyst (Healthcare)

On behalf of our Healthcare client, Affinity Healthcare Solutions is looking for a Senior Business Analyst (Healthcare) to support a major transformation, moving from multiple standalone hospital information systems to a unified, standardized, and integrated Clinical Information System (CIS).

Responsibilities

• Detailed review of existing business requirements and technical current state documentation.
• Collaborate with technical experts to gather input and insights for the development and refinement of Application & System requirements and standards.
• Design and develop facilitation sessions to validate the existing requirements and collect net new business and information technology requirement, including gap analysis.
• Create and maintain detailed process and solution documentation, including workflows, integration diagrams, user guides, and training materials, to ensure seamless adoption of new technology.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of business and technical requirements to support the planning, management, and progression of the technical workstreams within the CIS project; recommend and implement solutions to achieve defined objectives, monitoring their effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with Clinical and Technical project teams to ensure the smooth delivery and implementation of the CIS and changes to any downstream system, including effective communication plans for stakeholders.
• Participate in meetings with clinical workgroups to understand workflow impacts and application dependencies.
• Engage with business owners, operational leads, and vendors to gather required application information and confirm use cases.
• Document and communicate stakeholder feedback, issues, and risks to the Application Lead.
• Support preparation of readiness assessments, cutover plans, and configuration workbooks as directed by the Application Lead.
• Support the Application Lead in preparing status reports and materials for governance committees.
• Log and monitor risks, issues, and dependencies related to assigned applications in project management tools, with proposed mitigation actions. The individual will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement prior to commencing the assignment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of experience leading business analysis activities on large-scale healthcare and/or government transformation projects, including:
• Requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, and management
• Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation
• Business process analysis, workflow mapping, and use case development
• Gap analysis and solution design support
• Impact assessments
• Business and technical documentation preparation
• 3+ years of experience working directly with clinical stakeholders to elicit, analyze, validate, and document business and system requirements through workshops, interviews, workflow assessments, user stories, and use case development.
• Available to start work on the required commencement date.

Scored Qualifications

• Experience working within healthcare technology environments, demonstrating knowledge of healthcare operations, policies, regulations, and practices.
• Bilingual communication skills (French and English), including verbal, written, facilitation, and presentation capabilities.
• Professional certifications such as:
• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• PMI certifications
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
• Other equivalent business analysis, project delivery, or agile certifications
• 5+ years of experience working independently with a high degree of self-direction while collaborating effectively with project teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• 5+ years of experience leading executive briefings, steering committee presentations, governance meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities within large-scale healthcare or government environments, including:
• Tailoring communications for diverse audiences
• Influencing decision-making
• Building consensus
• Communicating complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• 3+ years of experience working with clinical and operational applications integrated with enterprise Clinical Information Systems (CIS), including:
• Workflow analysis
• Interface and integration analysis
• Data exchange assessment
• Downstream system impact analysis
• Experience with areas such as Laboratory, Pharmacy, Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiology, Registration, Scheduling, and Nursing systems
• 3+ years of experience working with enterprise Clinical Information Systems (CIS) in acute care, ambulatory, or integrated healthcare environments, including participation in:
• CIS implementations
• Optimizations
• Expansions
• Upgrades
• Consolidations
• Replacements
