The successful candidate will be a self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent interpersonal skills, is detail oriented, experience in managing a team of high performing staff, possesses a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and has a strong foundation in finance and accounting.Responsibilities:The responsibilities for this position would include, but not be limited to:Review quarterly financial reporting to investors and other users, including financial statements prepared under US GAAP, as well as fund and investment performance metricsReview NAV packs (and other working papers) prepared by external fund administrators to ensure accuracy and completenessManage fund capital activity, liquidity and forecastingPresent quarterly significant transactions to senior managementCoordinating various external service providers to ensure information being provided to investors is accurate and timelyWorking with internal and external auditors and maintaining appropriate control documentationDevelop a thorough understanding of the complex legal structures of the various funds and the related impact on funds flows and consolidationAssist with analysis of complex accounting treatmentsDevelop and implement process improvements, including leveraging AI and other emerging technologies to enhance the efficiency, accuracy and scalability of finance and reporting processesPeople management and developmentSpecial projects & ad hoc requests as requiredRequirements:University degree (business or accounting an asset)Professional accounting designation (CPA/CA)3+ years of progressive work experience in finance and/or accounting functionsExperience in private funds and knowledge of the investment management industry, and experience dealing with complex ownership structures would be an assetDemonstrated leadership and initiativeExcellent analytical, and problem-solving abilityExemplifies the right motivation by aspiring to achieve collective goalsAbility to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, to adapt quickly and to manage changing prioritiesSuperior communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlinesStrong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel, with an interest in and demonstrated ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and enhance financial analysis and reportingSelf-motivated and proactive, with respect to both managing workload and professional developmentCompensation: 95-110kPosition Opening Reason:New PositionBrookfield is committed to maintaining a Positive Work Environment that is safe, respectful; our shared success depends on it.
