Reference Data Lead - Security Master

Own a critical data capability at the heart of trading, operations, compliance, and reporting.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced reference data professional to take ownership of our security master — the golden source of instrument data relied on across trading, operations, compliance, and reporting.

This is a senior role with broad visibility and influence across the firm. You’ll be responsible for the quality, governance, and integrity of reference data across multiple asset classes, while shaping how instrument data is sourced, controlled, maintained, and distributed.

You’ll work closely with technology teams, data vendors, operations, compliance, and other downstream stakeholders to strengthen data quality, improve controls, and support the introduction of new instruments, markets, and data capabilities.

What You’ll Do

• Own and evolve the security master across equities, fixed income, derivatives, and funds, ensuring accurate and reliable instrument data across the firm.
• Lead the sourcing, validation, reconciliation, and control of reference data from vendors including Bloomberg Data License, ICE, S&P, and LSEG.
• Manage identifier cross-referencing across ISIN, CUSIP, SEDOL, FIGI, tickers, and issuer hierarchies, ensuring consistency across systems and downstream consumers.
• Oversee corporate actions processing, data quality rules, governance standards, exception management, and the resolution of complex data issues.
• Partner with technology and business teams on data models, EDM platforms, new instrument and market onboarding, regulatory requests, and the ongoing development of reference data capabilities.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in reference data or security master functions within capital markets, with a track record of owning complex data domains or critical data processes.
• Strong knowledge of instrument terms, structures, identifiers, and reference data across multiple asset classes.
• Hands-on experience with EDM platforms such as GoldenSource, Markit EDM, or Bloomberg Enterprise Data.
• Strong understanding of corporate actions, data governance, data quality frameworks, controls, and exception management.
• Strong SQL skills, combined with a detail-focused, controls-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively across technology and business teams.

Bonus Points For

• Exposure to regulatory reporting requirements such as MiFID II, CIRO, or EMIR.
• Experience using Python to support data analysis, validation, reconciliation, or workflow efficiency.
• Experience with data cataloguing, lineage, metadata management, or broader enterprise data governance tools.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is listed below. Additionally, this position may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary/variable bonus payment.
