THE ROLE

The Compensation Specialist will coordinate, implement, and evaluate compensation and job evaluation plans, contribute to the maintenance of the organization’s compensation programs and job evaluation plans as well as respond to enquiries regarding the compensation and job evaluation programs.

The Compensation Specialist will contribute to the development of compensation practices, such as Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) and provincial minimum wages increases, as well as participate in the salary increases process.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, AND some years of experience in human resources, compensation, total reward, or in a related field

AND

Professional designation in compensation, an asset

Experience

In coordinating and evaluating compensation programs

In interpreting policies and procedures

In preparing presentations and reports

In coordinating projects

In writing job documentation

In conducting job evaluations

In producing costing

In data analysis

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential or French Essential. Bilingual (English and French) an asset

Reading: Functional

Writing: Functional

Oral: Advanced
