In this role, you will be the gatekeeper of our production standards. You will focus heavily on inspecting all incoming parts, raw materials, and sub-assemblies (including metal fabrication, plastics, millwork, and custom print graphics). Your sharp eye will ensure that everything arriving on our floor matches our engineering blueprints, CAD files, and strict client specifications before it hits the production or assembly lines

Shift: 10am to 6pm - Monday to Friday
Payrate: $24-28/ depending on experience

This is role is temporary which would lead to permanent based on performance.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Incoming & First-Off Inspections: Inspect incoming parts, components, and raw materials (metal sheets, custom hardware, wood/millwork pieces, acrylics, and printed graphics) against purchase orders, engineering drawings, and CAD specifications.

Measurement & Verification: Utilize precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, and templates) to verify that physical parts meet exact geometric tolerances.
Defect Identification & Isolation: Identify, tag, and isolate any non-conforming materials or defective parts to prevent them from moving further into the production stream.
Documentation & Reporting: Log inspection results, generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and document supplier defects to help track quality and vendor performance metrics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Receiving, Engineering, Project Managers, and shop floor production teams to quickly resolve part discrepancy issues.
Maintain Safety Standards: Ensure the inspection area and daily tasks align with internal compliance and provincial workplace health and safety regulations (OHSA).

Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 2+ years of experience in a Quality Control / Inspection role within a manufacturing environment. Experience with retail fixtures, custom metal fabrication, millwork, display cabinetry, or POP (Point of Purchase) displays is highly preferred.
Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, structural blueprints, and CAD data. Understanding dimensional tolerances is essential.
Tool Proficiency: Highly comfortable using manual and digital precision measurement tools (calipers, height gauges, micrometers).
Attention to Detail: Methodical mindset with an eye for finishing standards (checking for surface defects, paint/powder coating consistency, raw material warping, and clean edges).
Communication & Tech Skills: Solid written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain and document defects to team leads. Basic computer proficiency (Excel, ERP/inventory software) for data logging.
Physical Requirements: Ability to handle and move small-to-medium fabricated components, safely navigate a busy manufacturing floor, and stand for extended periods.
