Constantine Restaurant has an existing vacancy for a Line Cook. A successful candidate will take full ownership of our morning kitchen operations. In this role, you will work independently to set up the line, execute fast-paced breakfast service, receive deliveries, and ensure the kitchen maintains high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Your Role:

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will have the following key responsibilities:

• Line Cooking & Prep: Prepare short-order breakfast items (eggs to order, omelets, pancakes, bacon/sausage, hash browns) with speed and precision.
• Independent Station Ownership: Manage the entire morning service solo—from initial kitchen prep and station setup to order execution and post-shift breakdown.
• Receiving & Stocking: Receive, inspect, log, and store fresh food shipments following FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
• Organization & Inventory: Keep prep areas, line stations, coolers, and dry storage clean, stocked, and organized throughout the shift.
• Food Handling & Safety: Strictly adhere to all local health standards, temperature control rules, sanitation procedures, and safe knife practices.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the reporting manager/supervisor.

Your Superpowers

• Work varying shifts (morning, afternoon, evening, some overnights, weekends and holidays);
• Work under variable temperatures and noise levels;
• Ability to push and pull work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces;
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping;
• Stand, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift;
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination;
• Visually verify and interpret written documents;
• Move at a speed that is required to respond to work situations (e.g., run, walk, jog);
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects);
• Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces;
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps;
• Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.

What You Bring to the Table

• 1+ years of line cooking experience in a high-volume breakfast or diner environment preferred.
• Valid Food Handler / Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain before start date);
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal guidance and manage time effectively;
• Strong knowledge of food safety guidelines, correct holding temperatures, and safe product handling;
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift packages up to 50 lbs during product receiving.
• Punctual and dependable—early morning readiness is critical;
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time;
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision;
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and verbal communication skills;
• Attentive to detail;
• Friendly, service-driven disposition;
• Ability to work shifts, over weekends, and on public holidays, as needed.
