Senior Product Designer

Our company, a leader in AI-powered marketing solutions for multi-location businesses, is currently looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer who operates at the intersection of AI-driven product development, systems thinking, and business strategy. As design evolves beyond craft into a critical driver of intelligent product experiences, this role is central to how our company builds, ships, and iterates at scale.

You are a designer who thinks in systems and speaks the language of business. You understand how to define measurable outcomes, translate research into actionable specs, and work within AI-assisted workflows to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality. You bring structure where there is ambiguity, and rigor where there is momentum.

We believe that design is much more than how a product looks or feels. Great design helps people solve their problems, accomplish their goals, and bring delight to their work—and that it should be measurable, scalable, and deeply informed by data and research.

We expect to pay a base salary in the range of $115,000 to $164,000 CAD. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We are open to candidates located in British Columbia or Ontario.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Platform and Systems Thinking: Lead the design of intuitive and scalable user experiences across our platform, incorporating deep systems thinking to ensure consistency, coherence, and composability across complex product surfaces.
• AI-Driven Design: Integrate AI-assisted tooling into the design workflow—from generative prototyping and research synthesis to spec automation—and help define the company’s internal standards for how AI is incorporated into the design lifecycle.
• Spec-Driven Development: Produce detailed, structured design specifications that enable high-fidelity engineering handoffs and support AI-assisted downstream processes, reducing ambiguity and accelerating delivery.
• User Research: Lead user research initiatives—including interviews, usability studies, contextual inquiry, and behavioral analysis—to ground design decisions in evidence rather than assumption.
• Data-Driven Design: Define and track design KPIs and success metrics; use analytics platforms and A/B testing frameworks to validate hypotheses, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement post-launch.
• Business Alignment: Partner with product management and senior leadership to align design direction with business goals and OKRs—articulating design decisions in terms of user outcomes and revenue impact.
• Design System: Contribute to and extend the company’s design system, ensuring components are documented, reusable, and aligned with both design and engineering standards.
• Problem-Solving: Identify user issues and business goals to define design opportunities, connecting qualitative and quantitative signals into prioritized, actionable direction.
• Collaboration: Work effectively across product, engineering, and data teams; communicate design concepts and rationale clearly; incorporate feedback with a low-ego, high-accountability approach.
• User-Centric Design: Lead a research-informed design process from discovery through execution, iterating based on user feedback and measurable outcomes.
• Project Management: Manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing scopes to meet deadlines—including the ability to lead 0–1 initiatives from ambiguity to shipped product.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior designers, foster a culture of craft and curiosity, and promote research-informed design best practices across the team.
• UX Advocacy: Champion user experience and accessibility standards across the organization, ensuring every surface we ship meets a high bar for usability.
• Continuous Learning: Stay current on design, AI, and product trends—actively bringing new tools, methods, and thinking to improve team practices.

What You’ll Need to be Successful

Must Have :

• 6+ years of product design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing systems-level thinking, research-backed decisions, and measurable outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience independently conducting user research (interviews, usability testing, contextual inquiry) and synthesizing findings into clear design direction.
• Ability to define design KPIs and success metrics, and connect design decisions to measurable business outcomes and user behavior change.
• Comfortable working with analytics tools and A/B testing frameworks to validate hypotheses and measure post-launch impact.
• Actively uses or is rapidly adopting AI-assisted design tools (generative prototyping, AI-powered research synthesis, spec automation) as part of their core workflow.
• Understands how AI features behave from a product perspective—including edge cases and error states—and designs experiences that account for AI-driven variability.
• Strong systems-level thinking: designs for scale, reuse, and cross-surface consistency, not just individual flows.
• Proficiency in Figma and modern design tooling.
• Working understanding of technical constraints and how they shape design—comfortable engaging engineering in conversations about feasibility and implementation.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills; able to defend design decisions to cross-functional partners and senior leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and lead 0–1 initiatives from discovery to delivery.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, a strong sense of ownership, and an appetite for learning and growth for yourself and your colleagues.
• A passion for the little big details.

Desired Skills (but not required) :

• Familiarity with Claude Code, Cursor, or other AI-native prototyping environments.
• Knowledge of design systems and component-based architecture; front-end development familiarity (HTML, CSS, design tokens).
• Experience in social media management, reputation management, or multi-location marketing platforms.

Education :

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Cognitive Science, or a related field—or equivalent demonstrated experience.
