Your new role
As Technical Director, you will lead the technical function across a portfolio of geotechnical projects, overseeing design, bidding, and execution. You will play a key role in driving business growth while ensuring technical quality, safety, and operational performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring the technical team
- Overseeing design development, submissions, and shop drawings
- Supporting bid preparation and contributing to winning work
- Driving process improvements and technical excellence
- Collaborating with operations leadership to deliver projects efficiently
- Building strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Contributing to strategic growth and business development with current and future clients
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this vital and important role, your background should include
- 8–10+ years’ experience in a similar leadership role, ideally in a similar industry
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Strong background in geotechnical, foundations, or ground improvement
- Proven leadership and team development capability
- Experience with design and estimation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, DeepEx/DeepFND – asset)
- Strong client-facing and business development skills
- Ability to operate across design, commercial, and operational functions
