Safety Manager

ARCAN is looking to fill a position of Safety Manager with an enthusiastic, hardworking, self-driven individual responsible for managing the Environmental, Health & Safety Department of our construction company. Inspiring company employees to support the development of a safety culture to eliminate injuries and accidents through education and increasing awareness across the ARCAN Group of Companies, while taking into consideration the company’s commitment to safety in the planning and implementation of all actions related to their areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Regular tracking & reporting of corporate safety activities
• Day to day management of site safety and reporting software
• Day to day communication with site & office project staff
• Management of COR certifications and audits
• Interface with local safety agencies, governments, and other safety associations
• Employee orientation, course training and certification management of employees
• Claims management
• Company wide PPE supply management
• Review and produce corporate safety manuals
• Additional corporate safety responsibilities as required

• Great communicator, verbal and written
• Interpersonal skills
• Indigenous relations coordination
• Time management
• Microsoft office
• Availability for periodic travel throughout the Territories

Education & Experience

• Minimum 5 years, or equivalent in jobsite safety
• National Construction Safety Officer Designation
• Train the trainer certification in fall protection and mobile equipment
• Claims management
