Shift Lead

Work Authority is a proud Canadian company since 1938 that leads in safety footwear and work apparel across Canada. We are seeking a Shift Lead to oversee daily retail operations at our Cambridge location.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of retail associates, providing guidance, coaching and support on assigned shifts.
• Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure smooth store operations during the shift.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and serve as a role model for the store team.
• Ensure all customers are greeted warmly and receive prompt assistance.
• Deliver legendary service by resolving customer inquiries according to Work Authority’s Values.
• Achieve sales targets by motivating the team to provide exceptional sales experiences.
• Train and coach associates on effective sales techniques and product knowledge.
• Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Be responsible for the store’s opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with inventory, including receiving, stocking, and replenishing merchandise.
• Provide customers with a hassle‑free experience when they need to exchange or return products.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and store operational guidelines.
• Adhere to loss prevention guidelines to minimize theft and maximize store profit.

Qualifications & Skills

• A minimum of 2 years customer service experience.
• Proficiency in POS systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams), and other retail software.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
• Excellent decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders safely, stand for prolonged durations, bend and move with ease.
• Reliable and flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and weekdays.
