Municipal Engineer - Major Projects (Hamilton)

Municipal Engineer – Major Projects
Senior‑level civil engineering role supporting the delivery of large‑scale transportation and municipal infrastructure programs in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage civil roadway components of major projects from inception to completion, including freeways, interchanges, intersections, and rural and urban roadways.
- Prepare technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, quantity and cost estimates, and perform quality control checks on plans, profiles, and design quantities in Civil3D, InRoads, and Open Roads Design.
- Coordinate with water, wastewater, drainage, and utility systems, integrating data from other disciplines such as water mains, storm and sanitary services, and wet/dry utilities.
- Conduct initial site inspections and field work for design assignments.
- Provide technical guidance, support, and oversight to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Maintain positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay current on the latest design tools and CAD standards, collaborating with senior CAD staff.
Qualifications
- University degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Extensive experience delivering MTO and municipal transportation projects.
- Strong technical authority in roadway and municipal systems and demonstrated detail‑design capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team with clients and other stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
