Pest Control Technician
BBD Pest Services
ABOUT THE ROLE
No pest control experience? No problem. We'll train you. BBD Pest Services provides respectful, responsible and responsive pest control to homes, businesses and institutions across Atlantic Canada. We pioneered canine bed bug detection in the region in 2009.
As a Pest Control Technician, you'll be on the road every day, solving real problems for real customers. You'll inspect properties, treat and prevent pest issues, and leave every client knowing exactly what you did and why. You'll work independently in your own company vehicle, with the backing of our General Manager and a supportive team.
We hire for attitude, integrity, reliability and a willingness to learn. If you take pride in doing the job right, we'll teach you the rest.
Responsibilities
Pest management
- Inspect properties for pest activity, entry points and conditions that attract pests.
- Treat for rodents, ants, wasps, bed bugs and other common pests, following approved procedures and product labels.
- Set up and maintain traps, bait stations and monitoring devices, and seal entry points.
- Complete follow-up visits and recommend prevention measures.
Customer service
- Arrive on time, look professional and treat every home or business with care.
- Explain what you found, what you did and what comes next, in plain language.
- Handle customer concerns calmly and flag issues to the office.
Service reports
- Complete accurate service reports in our mobile app, including products used, areas treated, photos and recommendations.
- Keep job status and time records up to date, and flag follow-up work or new service opportunities.
Vehicle and equipment
- Keep your company vehicle, tools, PPE and supplies clean, organized and in good working order.
- Let the office know when supplies run low or the vehicle needs service.
Safety and compliance
- Follow Nova Scotia pesticide regulations, product labels and company safety procedures - every time.
- Handle, transport and store products safely, and wear the right PPE.
- Keep your licences and training current, and work only within what you're trained and authorized to do.
Teamwork
- Communicate quickly about delays or schedule changes.
- Take part in training and coaching, and welcome feedback.
- Own your work and raise concerns early.

In 2017 we added thermal (heat) remediation, and we've since grown into a full-service pest control company.
Our Mission
We provide respectful, responsible and responsive pest control that protects what matters most: your family, your pets, your business and the environment. We use an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach, eco-friendly methods, and plans built around each client's needs and budget.
