Established in 2024 the Jewish Security Network (JSN) is an independent security agency dedicated to empowering the Jewish community to proactively safeguard itself. Working in partnership with law enforcement and other security organizations JSN promotes a culture of personal responsibility vigilance and preparedness.

6-Month Full-Time Contract

Position Overview

The Project Manager Security Infrastructure Grants will support community institutions in moving security infrastructure projects from security assessment through vendor selection quotation documentation and grant submission. This role is a six-month full-time contract. Salary will range from $50000 to $60000 for that prescribed period.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Institution Management

• Utilizing exceptional organizational skills develop and maintain project timelines action items and follow-up requirements.
• Coordinate communication between institutions and vendors
• Collecting estimates and organize them
• Work on revisions with vendors and achieving cost effective and appropriate quality solutions
• Monitor projects to ensure required information and documentation are received on time.
• Work closely with security professionals and department management to push project forward.
• Work on priorities and stand in timelines with vendors and institutions.

Scope of Work & Quote Assessment

• Review proposed scopes of work to ensure they appropriately address the security concerns identified through the security assessment.
• Meet with vendors and contractors to clarify proposed work materials specifications timelines and pricing.
• Obtain and coordinate multiple vendor quotes where required.
• Professionally assess quotes for completeness reasonableness consistency and alignment with the proposed scope of work.
• Identify discrepancies omissions unclear costs unnecessary items or areas requiring clarification.
• Work with vendors to obtain revised quotes or additional information where required.
• Ensure that quotes clearly identify the work materials quantities costs taxes and other relevant project details.
• Flag potential concerns or inconsistencies to the appropriate internal stakeholder.
• Arrange and organize workload between vendors to complete projects in their entirety.
• Maintaining a presence at institutions to ensure quality control and manage timelines.

Grant Preparation & Documentation

• Ensure that all required supporting documentation is obtained from institutions and vendors.
• Review documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.
• Prepare organized project files and supporting materials for grant applications.
• Ensure that scopes of work and quotes are appropriately aligned with grant requirements.
• Identify missing information and follow up with institutions and vendors to obtain outstanding documentation.
• Support the preparation of project summaries cost breakdowns and other materials required for grant submissions.
• Maintain accurate records of project status quotes correspondence approvals and supporting documentation.
• Identify institutions requiring additional support and supervision during implementation of the project.

Vendor & Stakeholder Relations

• Establish and maintain professional relationships with security infrastructure vendors and contractors.
• Coordinate site visits vendor meetings quote reviews and project discussions.
• Communicate project requirements clearly and professionally.
• Ensure vendors understand documentation and quotation requirements.
• Develop familiarity with commonly used security infrastructure products services and vendors.

Quality Control & Risk Management

• Apply sound professional judgment when evaluating proposed security infrastructure projects and associated costs.
• Ensure projects are appropriately supported by the findings of the security assessment.
• Identify potential scope pricing documentation or compliance concerns before projects proceed to grant submission.
• Escalate significant concerns or unusual project circumstances appropriately.
• Maintain a high standard of accuracy confidentiality organization and professionalism.
• Review quotes submitted by institutions and conduct conduct comparisons to ensure pricing is in alignment with project standards.

Typical Security Infrastructure Projects

Projects may include but are not limited to:

• Access control systems
• Security doors locks and hardware
• Cameras and CCTV systems
• Intercom and communications systems
• Physical barriers and bollards
• Fencing and gates
• Lighting and other security-related infrastructure
• Protective glazing and related physical security improvements
• Other infrastructure improvements identified through a professional security assessment

Qualifications & Experience

• 35 years of experience in project management construction/project coordination procurement facilities security infrastructure or a related field.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated experience obtaining reviewing and comparing vendor quotes.
• Strong ability to understand scopes of work project specifications pricing and deliverables.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work professionally with institutional leaders vendors contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Strong judgment and ability to identify inconsistencies gaps or potential concerns in project proposals and quotations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• Ability to manage deadlines and follow up persistently while maintaining positive working relationships.

Assets

• Experience with security infrastructure or physical security projects.
• Experience working with government or non-profit grant programs.
• Experience in construction facilities management procurement or security.
• Familiarity with security assessments and common security mitigation measures.
• Experience working with community institutions schools religious institutions or other non-profit organizations.
• Knowledge of Canadian security infrastructure funding programs.

Working Conditions

• Full-time 6-month contract position.
• Primarily office-based with regular travel to client/institution sites and vendor meetings as required.
• Some flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate institution and vendor schedules.
• Must have reliable transportation or the ability to travel between project locations.
• May be required to visit construction or infrastructure project sites.
