Linux Engineer - Remote

As a Linux Engineer at reboot Monkey, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our Linux-based systems and infrastructure. You will work closely with our IT and DevOps teams to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our systems.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

2. Proven experience as a Linux Engineer or similar role.

3. Strong knowledge of Linux server administration and troubleshooting.

4. Proficiency in Ansible for configuration management.

5. Experience with GitLab for source code version control.

6. Scripting skills in Python and Bash.

7. Network administration experience, including knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN.

8. Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IAC).

9. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

10. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

11. Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, Linux+, CCNA) are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

2. Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).

3. Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Linux servers and workstations.

2. Manage and automate system tasks using Ansible and other configuration management tools.

3. Collaborate with the development team to maintain GitLab repositories and ensure seamless code deployment.

4. Write and maintain scripts in Python and Bash for system automation and monitoring.

5. Administer network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.

6. Collaborate with the DevOps team to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

7. Implement security best practices to safeguard our systems and data.

8. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform system upgrades as needed.

9. Assist in capacity planning and scaling of infrastructure.

10. Work with Terraform to manage and automate infrastructure as code (IAC).

11. Collaborate with the IT team to support and maintain the overall IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking equipment.
