Join the County of Elgin as aDigitization Assistant!Position Title: Digitization Assistant Type:Temporary Part-time Non-unionCompensation: $26.00 per hour Hours: 1500 hours worked between October 1 2026 and December 24 : 1 existing vacancyAbout the Role:The Elgin County Archives has an exciting contract position to digitize and publish local newspapers and historical records pertaining to the County of Elgin. The project is made possible due to the financial support of the Blidner Family Foundation and entails the following:Your responsibilities include: Digitization quality control and on-line posting of local newspapers photographs and documentsPromotion/marketing/outreach activitiesBasic preservation activitiesQualifications:Completed or be in the process of completing post-secondary education in a field related to history communications or graphic technical skills and previous experience with digitization online publication and website design are written and verbal communication of local history is an with archival practice is an now!
