Android Developer – Kotlin, Jetpack Compose & Android Studio
Location: Hybrid
Schedule: 3 days onsite per week (Tuesday-Thursday)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Android Developer with 6-8 years of mobile application development experience to design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Android Studio, Kotlin, and Jetpack Compose and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-friendly mobile solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Android development best practices.
- Build modern user interfaces using Jetpack Compose.
- Collaborate with product owners, UX/UI designers, backend developers, and other stakeholders to define and deliver new features.
- Integrate Android applications with RESTful APIs and external data sources.
- Perform unit testing and ensure application reliability, usability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices.
- Utilize Git, Jira, and Confluence for source control and project management.
- Support Agile development processes and CI/CD practices.
Required Qualifications
- 6-8 years of experience in Android application development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
- Hands-on experience with Android Studio.
- Experience building UI components using Jetpack Compose.
- Strong understanding of Android SDK, architecture patterns, and mobile development best practices.
- Experience consuming and integrating RESTful web services and APIs.
- Knowledge of threading, offline storage, and application performance optimization.
- Experience with Git-based version control systems.
- Familiarity with Android testing frameworks and unit testing methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java-based Android development.
- Knowledge of push notifications and cloud messaging services.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to SQLite, Spring Framework, React, or related technologies.
- Experience with usability testing and implementing user experience improvements.
- Knowledge of native Android development concepts, including C/C++ and JNI, is a plus.
