Intermediate Frontend Engineer

Job Responsibility:

As an Intermediate Frontend Engineer on the Growth product team, you will work on initiatives focused on the overall growth of our business. You will be a hands-on contributor to our external website, hiive.com, which is key to our customer acquisition and education strategy, and ship supporting features to our main platform.

This team's recent projects have included rebuilding detailed pricing graphs, adding dynamic content pages with new API development, and optimizing our email notifications.

You will collaborate with technical leaders to deliver new features. You will work closely with your colleagues to refactor and improve the codebase; create a beautiful, functional, and delightful user experience; and build an excellent and supportive engineering culture.

A great candidate would…

• Consider themselves capable at hands-on development of a mobile responsive user interface with React and Typescript.

• Be well versed in all aspects of frontend development including styling, performance, responsiveness and creating reusable components.

• Be comfortable working with a small team including directly with the founders on building a product and a company.

• Adapt well to a quickly moving environment.

Required Experience

• 3+ years building interfaces with React.

• Previous experience working in Typescript.

• Experience with component libraries (such as Chakra UI).

• Working with authenticated backend APIs.

• Translating design mockups (e.g. Figma) into implementation.

• Working closely with product designers on feedback for UI/UX changes.

Preferable Experience

• Experience working with GraphQL APIs and Apollo Client a nice to have.

• Experience with backend languages like Elixir highly preferred.

Compensation Range: CA$90K - CA$130K
