Production Tech Specialist in Product Engineering

Salary: $69,283.00-$89,661.00 Plus Over-time and Bonuses

As a Production Tech Specialist in Product Engineering, you will be a part of the exterior team focusing on new model design confirmations and product testing. Some responsibilities of a Production Tech Specialist include but are not limited to; recommending design changes, product improvements to existing parts and investigating any warranty concerns when they arise. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering through education and hands on experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with associates in all departments. Knowledge and previous experience with metal and plastics manufacturing processes including stamping, welding, and injection molding processes is an asset.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for New Model design confirmations
• New Model and mass production testing
• Perform New model, mass production and warranty problem analysis as well as conduct countermeasure activities
• Act as the liaison between R & D and Product Engineering department
• Preparation and presentation of technical / testing reports

Position Requirements:

• Strong problem-solving skills and experience.
• Completed a post-secondary Engineering Degree/Technical Diploma with related work experience (minimum 2 years)
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and be able to perform tolerance analysis.
• Knowledge of quality control tools including FTA and FMEA
• Demonstrated an understanding of statistics and SPC
• Experience with metal and plastics manufacturing including stamping, welding, and injection molding processes.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively and interact with others
• Have the ability to work well independently as well as work in a team setting or leading a team
• 1 + years' experience using CATIA V5
• Have exceptional time management experience
• Experience managing large projects
• Working knowledge of NEWS
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Office, Teams)
• Experience with automated vehicle/component testing using robots and/or PLC programming
• Have the ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical systems
