Tasks
- Certify seed crops
- Collect samples from plants or products
- Enforce government acts and regulations
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Explain required standards to agricultural workers
- Inspect agricultural products
- Inspect products to detect harmful diseases, chemical residues, or infestations
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
- Oversee the quarantine, treatment or destruction of plants and plant products
- Prepare reports
- Route agricultural samples to laboratories for microbiological assessment, ingredient verification, or other testing
- Investigate consumer and trade complaints
- Take emergency actions, such as closing production facilities, if product safety is compromised
