Student Engagement Coordinator

Job Responsibility:

The Student Engagement Coordinator will play an instrumental role in creating a lively and inclusive campus community. The role focuses on organizing events and connecting students with campus resources. The Student Engagement Coordinator will also play a key role in engaging with various student programs and engaging with college alumni.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree (preferred)

· Strong project management skills and ability to take initiative

· Interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills including written and verbal fluency in the English language.

· Awareness of barriers to international student success

· Willingness to lead and facilitate events

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel

· Work experience in marketing or promotional roles

Salary : $60,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

· Organize and implement new student orientation each semester

· Plan and implement campus events, clubs, activities, both curricular and extracurricular

· Support new students in transitioning to Canadian society by organizing workshops and holding drop-in hours

· Facilitate the peer mentoring program to connect experienced students with new students

· Support campus staff in organizing events and clubs for students

· Connect and maintain relationship with college alumni by organizing events and gathering data

· Manage Coquitlam College Student Committee and Ambassador program to provide student opportunities to get involved in college life on and beyond campus

· Foster relationships with organizations off campus to provide opportunities for students to engage in their community

· Track, analyze, and report data related to all events

· Identify and respond to student extracurricular needs

· Gather student feedback through formal and informal channels (surveys, focus groups, etc)

· Work with marketing team to develop a calendar of events in the lead up to each semester

· Attend meeings with various departments engaged in student success

· Participate in policies and procedures updates
