Hatch is seeking a  Project Controller Student for a 4-month internship beginning in January 2027. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager in the Project Management & Construction group you will support offices globally working from our Vancouver, BC office location.

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Assist in the development, maintenance, and updating of project schedules to support project planning, execution, and monitoring activities.
• Assist in preparing weekly and monthly project controls reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for project teams and management.
• Assist with cost tracking, budget monitoring, commitment management, and variance analysis.
• Support project forecasting activities, including estimating costs at completion, analyzing trends, and identifying potential risks to project performance.
• Assist with resource planning and workforce forecasting by collecting and analyzing labor hours, productivity data, and resource utilization information.
• Participate in the administration of project change management processes by tracking trends, changes, and potential impacts on project scope, cost, and schedule.
• Help maintain project controls systems, databases, and reporting tools to ensure accurate and timely project information.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, estimators, field personnel, and other stakeholders to gather project data and support decision-making.

You bring to the role:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, at an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Strong interest in developing a career in Project Controls, with exposure to project planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, resource planning, and performance reporting.
• Basic understanding of project management principles and an eagerness to learn Project Controls methodologies and best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis, reporting, and information management.
• Familiarity with project controls tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, or other project management and reporting software is considered an asset.

Compensation:

Range: $26.00 - $34.00

At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. In addition to base pay, our total rewards package may include performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well-being and growth.
