We are currently seeking talented and professional Event Managers to assist with ‘day of' management of amazing events across the lower mainland. EVENT MANAGER Location: Event Dependent; Vancouver and GVA Term: Event Specific / Work when it works for YOU! Reports To: Sales and Events Director Overview of White Table Catering Co. Inc. Nature & Scope The Event Manager will be responsible for ensuring the event is well executed and will be the main point of contact between the Event Planner/client, the culinary team, and the service team. This unique position is on the event day and at the event site only! Our events are all over Vancouver and the Greater Vancouver Area. Work when it works for YOU! . The Ideal Applicant should:

• Possess exceptional customer service skills, complete with a bubbly personality
• Feel at home in high-volume, fast-paced environments - catering experience is an asset
• Meticulous attention to detail and aware of the world around you
• Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Have a positive, confident attitude and passion for personal development and growth
• Be well organized, efficient, prepared and always ahead of the game
• Possess the ability to work under pressure, pivot in the moment and be solution oriented
• Possess leadership skills; directing, coaching and encouraging

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the event from start to finish
• Lead a team of servers and bartenders
• Understand the different styles of service and what is required for each one
• Communicate clearly with clients, vendors, and the culinary team
• Take photos and video of the event for social media
• Be proactive in anticipating the needs of the client and their guests
• Assist with direction of set-up and breakdown of items required to complete the event successfully
• Contribute to a clean, sanitary and professional work environment
• Approach all tasks in line with the White Table philosophy, aesthetic and standard of excellence
• Complete any necessary duties to ensure the success of the event
• Promote teamwork and professionalism at all times

Requirements

• Valid Serving it Right certification
• Must be able to work an event-based schedule, with flexibility shared amongst other Event Managers
• Must be eligible to work in Canada
• Phone plan with data needed; for use with workplace apps and team communication
• A valid Driver's License is an asset
• Ability to bend, lift, and carry 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and be mobile for an excess of 8 hours
• Ability to read and correctly interpret documents such as recipes, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, floorplans, event contracts and procedure manuals
• Experience in the events industry is an asset
• Experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry is an asset
