Scope of the Position The delivery driver staff are responsible for delivering orders and products to customers on a daily basis. They are responsible for driving to and from the pickup location to the destination, delivering goods/products and collecting the payment. They must ensure that they have the correct names and addresses of customers, and stay in contact with dispatchers for additional pick-ups. It is their duty to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the delivery vehicle and to ensure the safe delivery of the product without any delay or damage.
Major Responsibilities Loading and unloading trucksMakes sure that incoming and outgoing products and material are in good conditionPick-up and deliver various items and productsUse maps and other trip planning aidsPerform pre-trip inspection of the vehicleRecord trip information i.e., vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and any issuesResponsible for carrying out any other duties assigned by management
Skills and Qualifications Valid G licenseClean driver’s abstract and CVORExperience driving a 3-ton, 5-ton, and flatbedResponsible and reliableExcellent time-management skillsMoney-handling skillsCustomer service orientedAccuracy in following instructionsExcellent communication skills - both verbal and written
