Property Accounting Clerk

Job Responsibility:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Property Accounting Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our property management division, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our real estate portfolio. This position involves handling sensitive tenant information, reconciling accounts, and ensuring seamless communication between tenants and our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Tenant Communication: Promptly respond to tenant emails and phone calls, providing exceptional customer service and addressing inquiries effectively.
- Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative duties to streamline property management operations.
- Ledger Reconciliation: Thoroughly reconcile tenant ledgers and run weekly Accounts Receivable (AR) reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collections: Initiate and manage the collection process, including sending collection emails for outstanding balances. Monitor and review NSF reports daily for re-processing payments when necessary.
- Documentation Management: Assist in collecting move-in requirement documentation, maintaining confidentiality of tenant information, and handling past tenant information appropriately.
- Reporting: Generate requested reports from Yardi and review payment processing reports, making adjustments as needed to ensure accurate tenant account processing.
- Technology Proficiency: Utilize Microsoft Office and property management software for efficient task execution.
- Task Prioritization: Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure by prioritizing tasks effectively and ensuring timely completion.
- Landlord-Tenant Board Applications: Assist in the preparation and submission of landlord-tenant board applications.
- Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of tenant information and handle sensitive data with the utmost discretion.
- Documentation Logging: Log all tenant emails and e-transfers to memos in Yardi for comprehensive record-keeping.
- Detail Orientation: Exhibit a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in financial transactions and documentation.
- Flexibility: Be open to performing other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the property management team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in property management.
- Accounts receivable experience is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with an excellent interpersonal approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software, with a preference for Yardi experience.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Effective task prioritization skills.
- Proactive attitude with the ability to seek clarification when needed.
