Position Overview

As part of the Software Sales organization, the Presales Solutions Consultant - Principal supports strategic sales engagements by combining technical expertise, industry knowledge, and consultative skills. You'll partner closely with Sales, Account Orchestrators, Technical Account Managers, Product Management, Marketing, and other stakeholders to understand customer needs and demonstrate how Siemens solutions address business and technical challenges.

This role focuses on customer engagement throughout the sales cycle—from discovery and solution development through demonstrations, workshops, assessments, proof-of-concepts, proposals, and transition to implementation. You'll contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring within the PreSales organization while driving strategic growth across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Solution Consulting

• Partner with Sales and account teams to identify customer business challenges, technical requirements, opportunities, and desired outcomes
• Lead discovery sessions and customer discussions related to engineering, product development, CAD, manufacturing, PLM, and digital transformation
• Analyze customer environments, processes, technology landscapes, and business requirements to identify appropriate solutions and improvement opportunities
• Develop customer-specific value propositions that connect Siemens solutions to measurable business and technical outcomes
• Advise customers on engineering and design best practices, including mechanical product development, model-based engineering, design collaboration, multi-CAD environments, and engineering data management
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers and prospects throughout the sales engagement

Solution Demonstration & Sales Support

• Plan and deliver executive presentations, technical demonstrations, workshops, assessments, benchmarks, and proof-of-concept activities
• Demonstrate Siemens solutions, including NX, Teamcenter, Designcenter, and related digital thread capabilities
• Clearly communicate the technical and business value of Siemens solutions in relation to customer requirements and competitive alternatives
• Support sales pursuits by contributing to solution architectures, proposals, RFIs, RFPs, and other customer-facing materials
• Select and recommend appropriate technology solutions based on customer requirements, existing infrastructure, and business objectives
• Support the development and delivery of pilot environments and proof-of-concept activities

Technical & Industry Expertise

• Apply knowledge of engineering design, product development, manufacturing processes, CAD, PLM, and digital engineering to customer engagements
• Maintain expertise in one or more leading CAD platforms such as NX, CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent solutions
• Understand customer environments that include multi-CAD and related engineering technologies and recommend migration, modernization, or transformation approaches
• Monitor industry trends, customer requirements, technology developments, and competitive dynamics to support evolving customer needs
• Collaborate with Product Management, Product Development, Marketing, and other internal teams to provide customer and market insights

PreSales Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of PreSales methodologies, tools, best practices, engagement models, business cases, and value propositions
• Share technical, industry, and process knowledge with colleagues and contribute to internal knowledge networks
• Coach and mentor less experienced PreSales consultants on technical demonstrations, presentations, customer engagement approaches, and PreSales best practices
• Support knowledge transfer across the broader PreSales organization and relevant internal teams

Qualifications

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• 10+ years of experience in engineering software, CAD, PLM, digital engineering, technical consulting, engineering, or a related field
• Demonstrated expertise with one or more leading CAD platforms such as NX, CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent
• Strong understanding of engineering, product development, and manufacturing processes
• Proven experience conducting customer presentations, technical demonstrations, workshops, assessments, proof-of-concepts, or consulting engagements
• Experience in PreSales, Solution Consulting, Solution Architecture, Engineering, Technical Sales, or a related customer-facing technical role in industries such as: Aerospace and Defense, automotive & transportation, industrial machinery, heavy equipment or High-tech manufacturing.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages is required

Our Benefits & Rewards

The total cash compensation range for this position is CAD $ 151,000 to CAD $ 201,000 with +/- 10% of this being comprised of an annual incentive target (100% achievement). The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training. Working Conditions

• Work may be performed in a home office or office environment, with flexibility consistent with Siemens' hybrid working practices
• Travel to customer sites, meetings, events, and other business activities will be required periodically
• The ability to work during core business hours and accommodate customer and team schedules is required
