Assistant Team Leader

Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of full-time Assistant Team Leader onsite at our 2nd Avenue Convenience Store/Gas Bar in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. This position will supervise Team Members, maintain inventory and champion Asset Protection and Safety Management at the 2nd Avenue Convenience Store and Gas Bar encompassing sales of approximately $14.5 million.

What You Will Do

• Model and champion Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, and safety principles, fostering a strong customer-focused and results-driven culture.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience at all touch points through various communication channels.
• Build and lead a high-performance team that delivers on budgeted targets by maximizing operational efficiency.
• Lead the Convenience Store team in providing quality service and convenience.
• Ensure the department is displaying, stocking, and rotating merchandise as per company policy and standard with a focus on maintaining image and brand standards.
• Ensure inventories are managed and protected in compliance with management standards and practices to maintain high levels of accuracy and minimal loss.
• Provide superior leadership to team members through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and feedback.
• Become familiar with and adhere to Lake Country Co-op policies such as selling of age restricted items and all government regulations relating to tobacco, lottery and fireworks.
• Oversee the completion of daily reports, reconciliations, and purchases.
• Champion the Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, procedures.
• Perform minor repairs to assets as required.
• Perform all other duties as required.

Who You Will Work With: Reporting to the 2nd Avenue Convenience Store/Gas Bar Team Leader, you will be a key participant in initiating, developing, and executing plans and policies to ensure continued growth in sales, service, employee satisfaction, and customer experience. You will help lead a fun and passionate team to cultivate a culture of collaboration.

Who You Are

You are looking for a Retail Store Operations opportunity and meet the following:

• 2 years of Retail Convenience Store management experience including Convenience Store operations, knowledge of pumps, fuel, and compliance in a full-service environment.
• Strong interest in and passion for the in-store tackle selection and outdoor lifestyle.
• Completion of the Retail Energy Advance Program is an asset.
• Co-operative Retailing System experience and post-secondary education in a business-related field are assets.
• Creative, self-reliant, goal oriented, and can set and adjust priorities in an ever-changing retail environment.
• Experience in the areas of member relations, selling, health and safety, ordering, receiving, merchandising, asset maintenance.
• Strong understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures.
• Elevated level of integrity and accountability.
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
• Able to plan and organize your own work and that of others, supervise others, and delegate to others.
• Well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
• Tech savvy with a good understanding of retail technology.
• Customer-driven and have the ability to work in a fast paced, guest facing environment.
• Available for day travel and some overnight travel to attend seminars, meetings, training programs for other operational purposes.
• Fulfill the physical job requirements, standing, working outside and inside, lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• A valid Class 5 driver’s license is preferred.
