ECE Assistant Director - Area 15*

Education: One of the following is required: Registration with the College of ECE (RECE), OCT, or CYW Diploma or Degree

Hourly Wage: $24.39 plus hourly Provincial Wage Enhancement if applicable – Compensation rates are increased for RECE candidates

Start date will be September 2026 (Must be available for school set up the week of August 31, 2026).

Assistant Director – After School Program

PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high quality early learning and child care for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates in more than 240 schools providing before school, lunch, and after school programs and 38 full-day early learning and child care centres and 6 EarlyON locations for children from 0–6 years.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Maintaining a safe, warm and caring environment in which a high-quality extended day program can operate.
• Working collaboratively with other staff to help plan, develop, and implement programs of stimulating age‑appropriate activities for groups of children. Activities will promote their physical, social, emotional and intellectual well‑being, in accordance with the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA), How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH?), and the guidelines established by PLASP for all program components including P.A. Days.
• Supporting the ordering of food for the program, and preparing nutritious breakfast and snacks while adhering to the guidelines of the Canada Food Guide, and in accordance with the rotational snack planner.
• In the Program Director’s absence, being responsible for all administration of the program, including registration, record‑keeping, health and safety monitoring and ordering of supplies.
• In the Program Director’s absence, operating programs according to the Ministry of Education (MEDU) standards and ensuring the CCEYA license is in good standing.
• Participating fully in P.A. Days, by providing safe, reliable care on and off school premises.
• Having an ECE degree/diploma and be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE) or have a Child Youth Worker/Care diploma (CYW/CYC) or Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) in good standing.
• Having a minimum of 2 years’ experience in child care and community service organization (experience in supervision of staff preferred).
• Having knowledge of the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA) and Ministry of Education licensing requirements.
• Holding a valid Standard First Aid Certificate, with level C CPR.
• Holding a valid Criminal Reference Check – Vulnerable Sector.
• Meeting all health requirements (immunizations) in accordance with the CCEYA and Medical Officer of Health.
