As a Gameplay Designer, you are in charge of defining, describing, documenting, communicating and verifying features and content that create those experiences for millions of players. Your blend of football knowledge, understanding of FC gameplay mechanics, and ability to translate them into elegant Gameplay solutions empower you to deliver detailed and comprehensive designs in collaboration with the team and following an established vision and design direction.You will report to the Game Design Director.You will work in a hybrid environment at our Vancouver studio.Main Responsibilities
Design, document, develop and balance large gameplay systems and features from concept through to releaseCreate innovative and engaging gameplay experiences that are unique to game modes within FCThoroughly document and communicate the game's design to the teamIncorporate ideas and feedback from across the gameplay teamMentor junior designers and promote good design principles across the teamWork with animation, art, audio, design, programming, and visual effects to develop your featuresGive concise and helpful feedback to help improve the gameContribute to the development of tools and design processes to improve how we workFollow direction and justify design decisions based on a shared product visionWho You Are
3+ years of experience in a game production or design roleExtensive knowledge of game design processes, techniques and principlesGreat eye for game quality and empathy for the playerPassion and knowledge of football and the EA SPORTS™ FC video game franchiseCuriosity and willingness to investigate design topics and in-game issuesTechnical proficiency in game development engines and toolsPay Transparency - North America
Compensation And Benefits
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.G. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).British Columbia (depending on location e.G. Vancouver vs. Victoria) $77,700 - $107,900 CADPay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top‑up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full‑time employees.
