Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Childcare Services Director, the Home Instructions for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) Home Visitor provides weekly home-based, educational programming and activities to parents and their children ages 35 that enables parents to prepare their children for school. This position helps parents understand early childhood development concepts that increases the parents ability to observe and understand their childrens learning process and development.Education and Experience High school diploma or possession of GED certificate and one year of experience with young children and families. A parent of a 35 year old child or access to a pre-school child with whom to practice activities is an asset. Knowledge and/or training in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred, but not required. Preference given to mothers who have been in the program. Preference for Home Visitors to speak: Dari/Pushto, Mandarin, Arabic, Tigrinya, Must be permanent Resident of Canada Required Licenses and/or Certifications Criminal Occurrence Security Check Must complete a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check in good standing and within three months prior to first day of employment. Valid Class 5 Drivers License and reliable transportation.
