About the role
Bold is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to help build developer API documentation and guides for our customers, partners, and developers looking to build with Bold. You will be responsible for creating and updating technical documentation that will provide these users the ability to integrate with our applications and APIs. You will play a pivotal role in improving and crafting Bold's enterprise and developer documentation, actively contributing to an exceptional partner and developer experience.
What you'll do
- Write, edit, and publish technical documentation aimed at helping our merchants and partners integrate with Bold
- Create and maintain API specifications and how-to guides that explain technical concepts in clear, easy-to-understand language
- Work closely with engineering, product management, design, QA, support and other members of the team to ensure quality and accuracy of content
- Apply your knowledge of technical writing concepts, processes, and authoring tools to facilitate constant improvement of the documentation processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups as an advocate for the user and developer experience
What we're looking for
- Minimum 5+ years of experience working as a Technical Writer specifically in software development
- A commitment to hitting tight deadlines and enjoying owning a project from start to finish
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and flexibility and openness to change
- An individual that can research and learn about technical products quickly and speak to them in a knowledgeable manner
- Relevant experience in writing technical API documentation for enterprise products and software, particularly software as-a-service
- Proven record of writing accurate, clear, and concise documentation for a technical audience
- An empathetic and user-focused approach to documentation, and a constant desire to identify gaps and seek out feedback
- Experience with documentation authoring formats (i.e. OpenAPI, YAML, JSON, Markdown)
- Experience working in a docs-as-code paradigm using Git or another version control system
