This hybrid role blends legal expertise with strategic product support across the Canadian market. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering legal guidance on compliance with Canadian and regional privacy laws, assisting teams with data governance and security protocols. Your efforts will empower Mastercard to launch products that meet regulatory expectations and ensure alignment with consumer protection standards in Canada. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Canadian Data Protection Officer for Services
- Review and advise on product compliance frameworks
- Draft and negotiate privacy-related agreements
- Implement compliance controls and risk assessments
- Conduct training on privacy regulations for teams
- Required law degree and bar membership in Canada
- 8+ years of experience in privacy and tech law
- Extensive knowledge of PIPEDA and data protection laws
- Familiarity with cross-border data transfer regulations
- Strong drafting and stakeholder management skills
