Job Responsibility:
The Best Western Plus Winnipeg West is looking for a Hotel Laundry Attendant to join our team!
Must have a class 5 driver's license - there are no bus routes to the property.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
- Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard.
- Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer, dryer, or dry-cleaning machines and place in clean linen carts.
- Set dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabrics contained in load.
- Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap after each load.
- Fold cleaned articles into designated size by hand
- Ensuring good communication within the housekeeping department and other departments of the hotel.
- Ensuring maintenance deficiencies are promptly reported and recorded.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience is an asset, but training will be provided for the suitable candidate in accordance with Best Western Standards.
- English language skills including verbal, reading and written.
- Good personal grooming and professional presentation.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and weekends.
- Able to work a physically demanding position that requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling of greater than 10 kgs and capable of performing repetitive tasks.
- In good physically condition
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision & as a team player.
Wage: Based on experience.
