Shipping and Receiving Manager

Job Responsibility:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shipping and Receiving Manager will maintain high departmental standards through on-time loading and off-loading of product while ensuring timely delivery to customers with accuracy of product received and delivered.
Key Accountabilities:
· Work a standard work week of minimum 44 hours
· Comply with all company policies
· Schedule shifts / days off and monitor attendance
· Verify time cards
· Authorize call ins
· Manage direct reports and their duties
· Evaluate employee performance
· Ensure adequate staffing levels for the department
· Ensure proper procedures are followed while loading and off-loading product
· Demonstrate knowledge of procedures to ensure controlled inventory
· Maintain a safe working environment
Daily Responsibilities:
· Ensure daily shipping and receiving processes are followed
· Ensure warehouse cleanliness at all times
· Enforce forklift checklists and ensure they are completed properly
· Work directly off FAMOUS program
· Communicate with Commodity Managers regarding product needs
· Work closely with Transportation Department to follow up on carriers loading and off-loading times
· Assign pick tickets with directives of commodity information, skid counts, carriers, revisions and border crossings and sample requirements
· Ensure Forklift drivers are wearing seatbelts, smocks and hairnets/beardnets at all times
· Ensure that only company issued electronic devices are being used in the warehouse
· Oversee and ensure all inspection processes are being followed when receiving and prior to shipping
· Ensure compliance with Food Safety Policies
· Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Policies
· Perform weekly department inspections of all equipment, lights, docks, etc. and communicate any issues via email to the maintenance department
· Answer phone after hours
