The Role
We are currently recruiting for experienced Journeyman Millwrights t o join our team at Kearl Oil Sands , a major oil sands site in Northern Alberta. The successful candidates will work in a safety-first environment on a 14/7 rotation. Camp accommodations and meals provided. Charter flights provided from designated hubs in Edmonton and Calgary with flight allowances based on the province located. This is starting in mid June.
Shift: 14 days on / 7 days off
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
- Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures
- Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
- Align and test equipment, and make any necessary adjustments
- Perform predictive and operational procedures
- Repair or replace defective parts as needed
- Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Adhering to all company safety procedures and regulatory standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
Skills/Qualifications/Education
- Registered Journeyperson Millwright Certification
- Must have valid safety tickets (:CSTS-2020, WHMIS 2015, First Aid, H2S Alive, AWP, Fall Arrest and Confined Space)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Previous experience working in an industrial setting
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Must be willing to complete a criminal background check
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
