What you'll be doing:

We're looking for a team member with a Financial Coaching background who is creative, resourceful, hard-working, and ready to take on challenges. We believe that financial empowerment (FE) can be an agent of social change and individual transformation.

At Momentum, one-on-one Financial Coaching aims to support participants reach their goals in personal money management, leading them to financial wellness. Through individualized coaching sessions, each participant will set personal financial goals and strive to achieve them with support from the coach.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

• Coach participants based on program description and program participant agreement.
• Provide high-quality coaching to participants to facilitate the achievement of their goals.
• Provide ongoing support to coaching participants between meetings via email, text, or phone.

• Complete and submit the required documentation.
• Collect and input data into systems.
• Review and ensure accurate and up-to-date electronic records are maintained through the accepted tracking procedures.

• Your passion for working with people from diverse backgrounds and those belonging to Indigenous communities. Your passion for working with people from diverse backgrounds and those belonging to Indigenous communities. Having a background as Indigenous is considered as asset.
• Self-motivation: You are internally motivated to deliver a high-quality service and financial coaching experience to the participants.
• Participant-first approach: You are flexible in your approach towards participants and able to create a work-life balance.
• Great team player. You care about cultivating a healthy team. You are willing to collaborate with others and assist team members when possible.

What you will need to do the job well:

• Degree or certification in a related field, such as social work, adult education, psychology, personal financial planning, business and/or finance.
• Completion of the Financial Literacy Training and Financial Coaching Training through Momentum is preferred.

• Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, facilitation, and communication skills.

• Experience working with Indigenous peoples. Being Indigenous is an asset.

• Experience in counselling /case management is an asset.
• Excellent technology skills, utilizing modern tools for collaboration, communication, and efficiency.

• Knowledge of poverty reduction and community economic development (CED) is an asset.

• Non-profit experience an asset
