Title : TB Clinic Nurse Advisor

Salary : $50.00 - $62.77 per hour – equivalent to an annual salary of $97,833 - $122,817 (exclusive of casual premium)

Contract : Casual Term to December 31, 2026

Hours : 8 am – 4 pm (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)

Location : Alberni office – Hybrid (role will relocate to new office building in North Vancouver, Spring 2027)

Bargaining Unit : PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada)

About the Role

The successful candidate will bring demonstrated expertise in tuberculosis (TB) case management and public health nursing, with a proven ability to manage and consult on TB cases across the full continuum of care, including screening, treatment planning, contact tracing, and follow-up in alignment with current clinical guidelines and public health frameworks. They will apply a wholistic, culturally grounded approach to practice—honouring body, mind, spirit, and community—in a manner that aligns with Indigenous worldviews and supports culturally safe care in diverse First Nations communities. Strong relationship-building skills are essential, with the ability to establish trust and work collaboratively with community health nurses and interdisciplinary health teams, including experience mentoring or coaching peers through complex clinical or programmatic challenges. The role also requires strong critical thinking and independent decision-making skills, with comfort navigating a flexible, autonomous environment that demands effective prioritization, self-direction, and timely judgment in collaboration with nurses and health directors.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Successful completion of approved training in public health nursing or communicable disease control (CDC) training.

Occupational Certification

• Current practicing registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Experience

• Three to Five (3-5) years of experience in public health nursing or communicable disease control.

Knowledge And Abilities

• Knowledge of, and ability to apply, an understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols in work situations.


• Knowledge of the planning, coordination, and delivery of public health programs with particular strengths in communicable disease control and prevention.


• Knowledge and skills in one or more focus area within communicable disease prevention programs, such as STI/BBP/Harm Reduction, TB or Immunization.
