Payroll Coordinator

Overview:

This role is based at our client’s Calgary downtown head office.  Parking provided. This role is 100% in-office.

Responsibilities:

The Payroll Coordinator is accountable for the full-cycle processing of payroll.  This role blends being an individual contributor with team work oversight, working with the Payroll Manager to developing the skills and competencies of each team member. Specific responsibilities include:

• Process payroll
• Ensure all post-payroll tasks and responsibilities are completed on time, including all statutory remittances, garnishments, GL reporting, all payroll reporting, etc.
• Group benefits administration
• Mentor and train team members
• Work directly with managers, executives, and HR on special/ad hoc projects, payroll/data analytics, and custom reporting requests.

Requirements:

• Strong preference for a payroll certification
• ~5+ years experience processing full-cycle payroll
• Leadership experience preferred, but open to candidate with strong senior individual contributor experience
• Benefit administration exposure
• Experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset
