Caring Caregiver For Senior

Looking for a compassionate, experienced caregiver to provide a safe and nurturing environment for a senior woman is living with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). The individual we care for is easy-going and requires a high level of personalized attention. Thus, prior experience in dementia caregiving is pivotal to qualify for this position. The role we are looking to fill is a part-time post, where primarily, the caregiver will provide respite care for the full-time caregiver once a week. The specific day can be flexible for a day-long shift typically be from 10 am to 6 pm, culminating to less than 20 hours per week. The caregiver's responsibilities encompass ability to use a Hoyer lift, provide assistance with toileting, bathing, dressing, carrying out range of motion exercises and implementing Alzheimer/Dementia care strategies. Further duties would include maintaining a well-supervised home environment, repositioning the patient as needed and performing light housekeeping chores such as vacuuming. The caregiver would also be looked upon to assist with meal preparations. Providing care within our home, it is of prime importance that the caregiver has prior experience with, or is open to managing dementia and incontinence issues, as our family member uses diapers. A driver's license is not required for this role as there is no requirement or necessity of using an automobile. Compensation for this caregiving role starts at $23 per hour but could be up for negotiation depending on the candidate's relevant experience and skillset.
