Title: Acting Manager, Registered Products
*Contract until October 2026*
JOB STATEMENT:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Registered Products and working in a fast-paced environment, the Acting Manager, Registered Plans will be responsible for managing the Registered Products Team. This highly motivated and energetic candidate must have thorough knowledge and understanding of all registered products, the Income Tax Act, CRA regulatory guidelines and the Pension Act Provision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Being a subject matter expert with respect to all registered products (RRSP/LIRA, RRIF/LIFs, TFSA, RESP, FHSA and locked-in pension accounts) and having thorough knowledge and understanding of the Income Tax Act, pension plan and locked-in accounts, CRA and other regulatory guidelines pertaining to registered products.
- Knowledge of removing funds from registered accounts relating to hardships
- Conducting semi-annual reviews of registered plans policies and procedures ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies and ensuring ITL communications are prepared and disseminated when regulatory changes occur.
- Leading and coaching the team, sharing ideas and success with colleagues and peers, and taking ownership of personal and team development.
- Directing the day-to-day supervision of the Registered Plans team, ensuring SLAs are met for all deliverables, including ensuring appropriate planning has occurred for peak seasons.
- Working closely with other members of the management team and supporting departments and operations initiatives.
- Responding to all escalated issues with a focus on building, reinforcing and enhancing the business and relationships while ensuring appropriate controls are maintained.
- Ensuring unresolved daily issues and high-risk transactions are escalated to the Senior Manager
- Implementing operational efficiency within the team and keeping all documentation up to date
- Preparing communication to be shared with Marketing relating to new products or changes to legislation
- Taking responsibility for the preparation of regularly scheduled reconciliation packages for internal income tax control accounts and ownership of all tax reporting and filing with the CRA and ensuring all WHT tax accounts are balanced monthly.
- Conducting semi-annual performance reviews of the Registered Products Team members; as well as year end reviews
- Performing other projects and initiatives as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS :
- Post-secondary education
- Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course and/or the Canadian Investment Mutual Funds Course
- Completion of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada Operations course recommended
- 5 - 8 years similar experience within the investment industry
- Strong customer focus and strong professional acumen
- Strong problem solving, analytical and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent communication organizational and listening skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge of Dataphile
- Dedicated team player with the ability to take the initiative and be independent
