Overview
Vancouver Coastal Health is recruiting a Neurologist with subspecialty training in Behavioral Neurology to join the University of British Columbia Neurology Division and the UBC Hospital Clinic for Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders.
The successful candidate will diagnose and manage patients with cognitive symptoms and dementia, including neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and frontotemporal dementia. The candidate will also participate as a ward manager, a consult manager for general neurology services at Vancouver General Hospital, and be on the on-call roster for general neurology.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage patients with cognitive disorders and dementia.
- Lead ward management and consult management for general neurology at Vancouver General Hospital.
- Participate on the on-call roster for general neurology.
- Teach and educate residents, fellows, and other staff.
- Initiate or participate in clinical research and clinical trials in cognitive neurology and dementia.
- Maintain a private practice as part of the fee-for-service remuneration model.
Qualifications
- Subspecialty training in Behavioral Neurology.
- Commitment to teaching and education.
- Experience in research and clinical trials in cognitive neurology is strongly encouraged.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
Licensing & Certifications
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Desired
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) – Desired
- Current College of Physicians of British Columbia (CPSBC) – Full
- Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – Emergency Medicine – Desired
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) – Mandatory
- Anesthesia Experience – Desired
- Emergency Experience – Desired
