Position Details
Department of Environment, Conservation and Climate Change - Government of Newfoundland and Labrador
Reporting to the Director of the Climate Change Division, the Manager provides leadership and oversight for industrial carbon pricing regulations and climate change mitigation policy. The Manager leads the development and implementation of regulations under the Management of Greenhouse Gas Act; as well as developing economy-wide and regulated facility-level greenhouse gas projections. The Manager integrates climate change considerations into environmental assessment processes and interdepartmental land use planning; and oversees the assessment of best available control technology requirements for greenhouse gas emissions for new industrial facilities. The Manager provides technical guidance to industry on compliance with the Act; manages regulatory records and information; participates in federal-provincial and interprovincial working groups; prepares reports, briefing materials, presentations, and correspondence; and performs other related duties as required.
Screening Criteria
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in business administration, engineering, economics, mathematics, or statistics (equivalencies will be considered).
- Experience completing quantitative analysis.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Experience writing briefing materials and reports.
- Experience interpreting or applying legislation, regulations, or standards.
- Experience conducting policy development.
