Survey Account Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to help grow our cadastral surveying business in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.

This role combines business development, client relationship management, project oversight, quoting, and team mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

• Build relationships with new and existing clients.
• Identify new business opportunities and generate new work.
• Use your professional network to develop new leads.
• Attend industry conferences, events, and networking opportunities.
• Monitor local and broader market trends.
• Identify potential partnerships and growth opportunities.
• Work toward agreed revenue and business development goals.

Quoting & Project Oversight

• Prepare and oversee project quotations.
• Clearly define the project Scope of Work (SOW) .
• Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Make sure quotes accurately reflect project costs.
• Consider geographic factors when preparing pricing.
• Ensure clear communication between clients, Project Managers, and project teams.
• Manage projects when required.

Team Mentorship

• Mentor and support Project Managers.
• Guide Project Managers through project execution.
• Train and support Project Managers and Quote Administrators.
• Help improve knowledge of products and services.
• Provide guidance while maintaining a collaborative and approachable working style.

Requirements

• Experience in the surveying industry or a closely related field.
• Understanding of industries such as construction, planning, engineering, and underground utilities.
• Strong knowledge of the Kitchener-Waterloo cadastral surveying market.
• Existing industry connections and networking experience.
• Strong understanding of the local client market.
• Ability to confidently guide and mentor Project Managers.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Compensation Structure

Year 1: 100% fixed salary to allow you to build your client pipeline and become familiar with the project teams.

After Year 1: Base salary + variable/performance-based compensation.
