Senior Mechanical CAD Designer

Role Overview

AtkinsRéalis is a leading private sector nuclear engineering group proud of its 60-year legacy in Canada and worldwide. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical/Piping Designer to support engineering roles for nuclear projects, including new builds in Ontario, international new builds, refurbishments, and continuous plant operation support for nuclear power plants.

Duties

• Review the status of existing buildings prior to project design, performing site take‑offs.
• Assist in developing designs and technical specifications for HVAC, boilers, plumbing, chilled water, building controls, and related systems.
• Share knowledge and assist colleagues on multiple projects.
• Prepare drawings and construction documents.
• Coordinate system requirements with electrical, architectural, and authority bodies.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to review construction progress.

The Ideal Candidate

• College diploma or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 10 years in mechanical design and drafting.
• Working knowledge of Smart Plant 3D (SP3) / Smart is a must.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, AutoCAD Plant 3D, MicroStation, Navisworks Manage, and SolidWorks.
• Ability to incorporate changes from marked up engineering drawings into AutoCAD files.
• ASME Code knowledge considered an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
