Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the quality assurance vice-president, the incumbent will be responsible for performing various tasks in support of quality and production.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal and external audits (customers, NADCAP, AS9100);
• Implement corrective and preventive actions following audits;
• Prepare and assist external auditors during customer audits;
• Implement corrective and preventive actions raised following external audits and communicate the results and actions to the auditors;
• Assist in advancing quality practices and special process techniques for: welding (melting and strength), plasma coating, painting, TND (LPI) and chemical cleaning;
• Approve technical instructions and associated training materials;
• Review and approve the qualification of specialized operators and technicians (welders, plasma operators, painters);
• Manage non-conformities raised by customers;
• Participate in the preparation of the quarterly and annual review of internal non-conformance assessments and the evaluation of complaints and implement corrective actions and ensure follow-up;
• Provide training on the quality system for all new employees;
• Apply and respect safety rules at all times;
• Apply and respect the rules of our policy and our quality system;
• Perform all other related tasks.

Required Education

• College diploma in mechanical engineering or a related field (metallurgy, quality, aeronautics) and any combination of relevant experience.

Technical Skills

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position;
• Proficiency in the Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), an asset;
• Experience as an internal auditor;
• Experience with special processes & NADCAP, an asset;
• Experience with AS9100 is an asset;
• Knowledge of Transport Canada regulations is an asset;
• Excellent proficiency in French (spoken and written), along with advanced proficiency in English (spoken and written), is required to support regular communications with clients and suppliers outside Quebec.
