The Subdivision and Development Coordinator's primary responsibilities are to support the Manager, Development and Subdivision in the coordination and processing of subdivision and development applications, including referrals, preparation of reports and file management.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Abilities:

1. A CIP-accredited degree in planning or related discipline (regional, community, natural resource/environmental, civil engineering, geography, urban studies); or a diploma with an equivalent level of education and experience.
2. Membership or eligibility for membership in PIBC and CIP (candidate or full member), ASSTBC.
3. Possession and maintenance of a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's Licence; a satisfactory current driver's abstract will be required.
4. Demonstrable experience in subdivision approval procedures, interpretation of bylaws, Official Community Plans, Local Government Act and related legislation in BC.
5. An ability to gather, interpret and compile complex planning, environmental, economic, engineering and design data in technical reports.
6. An ability to communicate in a clear, concise and considerate manner (e.g. emails and other correspondence to the public, committee and Council reports, reports to internal and external departments, answering enquiries, and presenting planning reports).
7. Proficient in GIS systems, particularly ArcGIS. Experience in the use of other design and technical software will be considered an asset (e.g. InDesign, Google Sketch-Up, and AutoCAD).
