Senior Full-Stack Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer based in Canada.

As a Senior Full-Stack Developer, you will join a product-focused engineering team building and evolving a smart-building platform used in real-world residential and commercial environments. You will work across the full technology stack, from Angular front-end applications to .NET/C# backend services and data layers. The role combines software development with integrations involving IoT devices, access-control systems, smart locks, and third-party platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Hardware, QA, and Operations teams to turn requirements into reliable, scalable solutions. Your work will directly influence platform capabilities, performance, and the experience of customers using the technology in the field. This is a remote opportunity with strong collaboration and meaningful technical ownership.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain end-to-end product features across front-end, backend, API, and data layers.
• Build and optimize responsive Angular applications with a strong focus on usability, performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Develop .NET/C# backend services, Web APIs, integrations, and supporting application components.
• Design database schemas, queries, and data models using Microsoft/Azure SQL, while improving database performance where required.
• Use Elasticsearch for search, analytics, logging, and data-driven platform functionality.
• Design, implement, and maintain integrations with IoT hardware, smart locks, access-control systems, building systems, and third-party APIs.
• Partner with Product Managers to translate business and customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Collaborate with QA teams on testing, debugging, quality assurance, and production support.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical standards, design decisions, and the platform’s long-term technical direction.
• Troubleshoot and enhance existing systems while developing new platform capabilities and ensuring reliable operation in production.
• Work effectively within Agile, squad-based development practices and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar solutions to improve development productivity, debugging, prototyping, and code quality.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development, with strong hands-on ownership of both front-end and backend systems.
• Strong practical experience with Angular, .NET/C#, Web APIs, backend services, and modern full-stack development practices.
• Solid experience with Microsoft/Azure SQL, including schema design, querying, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch for search, analytics, logging, or related application capabilities.
• Experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs and integrating distributed systems.
• Experience with hardware, IoT, access-control, or other complex third-party integrations is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of scalable and distributed application architectures, including reliability and performance considerations.
• Experience working in Agile or squad-based product development environments.
• Experience supporting production applications used by real customers, ideally in environments where software interacts with physical systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, is an asset.
• Knowledge of message queues, event-driven architectures, or real-time data flows is an advantage.
• Previous experience in PropTech, IoT, smart buildings, building management systems, or related technology environments is beneficial.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems independently while knowing when to collaborate or seek additional expertise.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding and development tools to accelerate implementation, testing, debugging, or prototyping.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment while maintaining strong collaboration and ownership.

• Competitive full-time compensation of $110,000–$140,000 CAD .
