Assistant Receiving Manager

Job Responsibility: Overview: A structured Assistant Receiving Manager role is critical to the success of the River Cree Resort & Casino. The primary purpose of the Assistant Receiving Manager is to assist the Purchasing Manager in all details of the Shipping/Receiving operations. Communicate with various departments to ensure outgoing packages/mail are properly directed to Shipping & Receiving. Maintain accurate tracking system on all shipping and receiving transactions. Ensure accurate billing of outgoing packages. Receive, store, ship, and deliver incoming and outgoing department packages and mail. Communicate with management regarding package loss or damage. Maintain clear and organized records to ensure all reports and invoices are filed and stored properly. Receive, unload, and process deliveries. Reconcile shipping invoices and receiving reports. Troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and oversee return process. Maintain and organize all received pallets until product is “broken down”, removed and/or stored. Operate forklift/pallet jack. Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies. Responsibilities:

• Utilize existing programs effectively to post invoices, update items and costs and perform daily and period end food and beverage costs.
• Maintain an accurate controllable log and beverage perpetual.
• Maintain proper par levels for all food, beverage and delegated controllable items.
• Check invoice on goods received against shipment to ensure quantity, quality, weights and purchase specifications are as ordered.
• Delegate and enforce first in/first out inventory rotation for all storeroom products.
• Complete period end inventories according to Food and Beverage and Accounting standard operating procedures.
• Complete or assign administrative, organization and sanitation tasks daily.
• Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.
• Supervise crews on all shifts.
• Supervising of all stewarding/receiving personnel.
• Training personnel as needed
• Assigning specific cleaning responsibilities via daily or other periodic cleaning schedule
• Enforcing safe work habits.
• Maintain cleanliness of back dock area.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Ensure that proper procedures for handling, washing, and storing are being followed.
• Ensures compliance with standard and local operating procedures
• Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards.
• Ensures compliance with all local, provincial and federal regulations.
• Knows Food Specification changes.
• Assist in beverage control system, e.g., recording all liquor received in storeroom; issuing and filling requisitions; ordering liquor; and matching orders and invoices against receivables.
• Understands beverage control including days on hand; perpetual inventory; bar pars; portion control; costs controls; beverage potentials; mix of sales analysis for beverage; issue & returns; food standards; and period end inventory.
• Maintains par stocks throughout the various departments by daily monitoring of on-hand inventory.
• Participates as needed in the investigation of associate and guest accidents.
• Understands and complies with loss prevention policies and procedures.
• Conduct day-to-day shift or oversee department operation
• Serve as an individual contributor and department role model by performing technical or functional job duties
• Ensure that associates are trained on technical and service aspects of the job (e.g., food or room preparation, customer service)
• Work with management to ensure that associates clearly understand their job roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations
• Give constructive feedback to associates to help them do their jobs better
• Act as a "bridge" between management and associates to facilitate department Collaborate with management to develop and carry-out ideas and procedures to continuously improve department performance.
• Ensure that department goals are communicated, understood, and met by associates
• Coordinate tasks and work with other departments to ensure that the department runs efficiently
• Work with management to ensure that associates have the necessary resources to effectively perform their jobs.
• Prepare and present disciplinary action for hourly associates
• Prepare work schedule of associates
• Prepare payroll of hourly associates.
• To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Post-secondary education is preferred
• Hotel shipping/receiving experience - 2 years
• 3+ years of experience in the Food & Beverage field
• 2+ years supervisory experience
• Sound knowledge of full Food & Beverage cycle
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Multi-tasking
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Good knowledge of accounting cycle
• Government requirements with respect to liquor licenses
• Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
• Minimum lifting 40 - 50 lbs.
• Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching
• Exposure to extreme temperatures
• Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals

This position is to report to work five (5) day per week and if required, may be instructed to work additional time due to any special events that may be occurring at River Cree Resort & Casino. WE OFFER
