Become a Legal Counsel with Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions, a dedicated agency serving children's needs in Simcoe County. You'll represent the agency in court and provide legal guidance on protection matters.
In this permanent position, you will collaborate with Senior Legal Counsel on all legal affairs surrounding child protection. Your expertise in the Child, Youth and Family Services Act will be essential as you prepare and present cases in court. The role seeks individuals with strong mediation skills and effective communication abilities to support agency staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Represent the agency in legal matters in court
• Prepare and present child protection cases
• Consult with agency staff on legal issues
• Mediate discussions regarding child welfare concerns
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Requirements:
• Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario
• Knowledge of child welfare legislation
• Strong litigation process understanding
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
